From a recent article in the CC Journal, "Global Business and the Community College" "The new reality is that we are living in a multipolar world in which the traditional industrial prowess of the United States, Western Europe and Japan is ceding ground to newer entrants such as India, China and Eastern Europe. To sharpen our competitive edge, we must invest significantly in education, especially math and science. Equally important, we need to raise the bar in terms of educating our domestic workforce across all industries. We need people with skills in critical thinking, analytic reasoning, and problem solving. We need to be able to speak, to write-to communicate. We need to enhance the richness and diversity of the workforce and we need it to be more confident.”
